The El Paso Symphony Orchestra contributes greatly to the cultural image and quality of life in El Paso. Comprised of area musicians, the El Paso Symphony Orchestra continues to be recognized for its superior artistic quality; bringing accolades to El Paso. It is also the oldest continuously operating symphony in Texas.

Following ancient Native American trails, Spanish explorer Don Juan de Oñate led 500 colonists and natives across the Chihuahuan Desert to the local Rio Grande area and established El Paso del Norte (The Pass of the North). This close knit valley of four major missions continues to offer the El Paso area with an eclectic and unique culture that compares to no other.

Oldest community in present boundaries of Texas, now part of the city of El Paso, was established in 1681 by refugees from a bloody uprising that expelled Spanish and Christian Indians from present New Mexico.

The Dome was named by G.Q.Magazine as one of the TOP 12 Bars in the World, worth traveling for. The famous Tiffany Dome above the lobby bar is the hotel's centerpiece. Live music and entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings featuring the best local jazz and contemporary artists.

The El Paso Museum of History promotes the understanding and significance of the rich multicultural and multinational history of the border region known as The Pass of the North. INSIGHTS has come a long way since it opened its doors in that fledgling museum. It has become an important facility for the the study of science, and is now located in a freestanding building near City Hall and the El Paso Museum of Art. Permanent exhibits, such as the Tesla Coil, Centrifugal force spinner, among others - along with traveling exhibits under contract from the Smithsonian Institution and other recognized scientific entities comprise INSIGHTS entire exhibit floor-space.
